Welcome: Your Hosting Account Explained
Welcome aboard! This article helps you get your bearings as a new customer by explaining the two places you'll log in and what each one is for, so you always know where to go.
There are two separate logins that work together to run your hosting. It's worth learning the difference now, because it saves a lot of confusion later.
The two places you log in
- Your account (the customer portal) — this is where you look after the business side of things: your invoices, billing details, support tickets, the services and domains you've purchased, and your contact details.
- Your control panel (Enhance) — this is where you manage the website itself: email accounts, files, databases, WordPress, SSL certificates, and backups.
A simple way to remember it: your account is for paperwork and people, and your control panel is for the website and how it works.
What "your account" is for
Sign in to your account when you need to:
- View and pay invoices, or check upcoming renewals.
- Update your billing details, contact information, or password.
- Open a support ticket and chat with our team.
- See the services and domains you currently have with us.
- Invite a colleague or developer to help manage your account.
Think of this as your front desk. It's the first place to come if a question is about money, your details, or getting help.
What "your control panel" is for
Open your control panel (Enhance) when you want to actually work on your website. From here you can:
- Create and manage email accounts for your domain.
- Upload, edit, or download files.
- Manage databases.
- Install or look after WordPress.
- Set up an SSL certificate so your site loads securely (with the padlock).
- Create and restore backups.
You reach your control panel from your account, so you only ever need to remember one starting point.
Where to start
- Log in to your account using the details from your welcome email.
- Have a look around — check that your contact details are correct and note where your invoices live.
- When you're ready to work on your website, open your control panel from within your account and select your website to manage email, files, and the rest.
There's no rush to do everything at once. Most new customers start by setting up email or pointing their domain, and come back to the other tools as they need them.
